I just received some of these units and am trying to configure them. For some reason, my computer won't recognize the AudioMoth unit (SD is formatted as directed in guidelines). All the help I've seen on this issue relates to Linux. My PC is 64bit and I'm running Office 365 ProPlus. Can someone tell me how to get this working so I don't waste another several hours?
Hi, Can you describe what doesn’t appear to be working. Are you running the configuration app and it doesn’t showing the changing time of the AudioMoth? It sounds as if you are expecting the SD Card to mount through AudioMoth. This doesn’t happen - you need to remove the card and insert it directly into you computer with an adaptor to read the contents. Is this a Windows 10 machine? If so everything should work directly without having to download any additional drivers.
I'm using ScanDisk Extreme PLUS UHS-1 U3 as recommended. It came formatted for FAT32, but I reformatted it as FAT32 anyway.
I loaded the device with 3 Energized AA batteries and the SD card and set the switch to USB/OFF.
I've downloaded the configuration App to my computer.
I configured the app to record for one period (test trials 08:00 - 09:00 with sleep duration and record duration both set at 60sec with sample rate of 96kHz on medium gain.
I then attach the device to my computer via a USB
At this point the computer doesn't recognize anything in the USB port. The port works fine with jump drives, etc., but it won't recognize the device.

@clint.boal Hi Clint, You need to remove the SD card and use an adaptor to view the recordings on the card. The AudioMoth doesn't make the SD card visible through the USB port. We only use the USB port to configure the device and to update the internal firmware. Alex
@Alex Rogers Thank you for the feedback, but I'm not even trying to review the recordings yet, I'm simply trying to configure the device. The guide says that with a successful connection, the device information will no longer be greyed out and the clock should tick upwards. That is not what is happening. The clock info stays grey and doesn't change.
Am I being dense about this?
