Default vs Custom

I was under the impression that moving the switch to default would cause the audiomoth to record until the battery ran out or the SD card fills up.

But when I switch it there is no change. It continues to create T files based on the same trigger as custom as far as I can tell.

Both 1.11.1 and 1.12.1 have been doing this.

Is it just me? Do I misunderstand something?

TIA

Hi, In DEFAULT the AudioMoth will use all the configured recording settings (e.g. gain, sample rate, filter and trigger settings) but just ignore the schedule (the recording periods, first and last recording date, and any sleep/record duty cycling) that is used when CUSTOM is selected.

We typically just use DEFAULT as a quick was to test the SD card prior to deployments. It generates very large continuous files (4.3GB in size) which will start and end at irregular times, so in most cases it is better to configure a proper continuous schedule with 59:55 minute recordings and 5 second intervals between them.
