Waterproof Membrane Replacement
Recently, I got back three AudioMoths with IPX7 Waterproof Cases from a deployment and found that all had the microphone membranes punctured. I don't know how that happened, but I wondered how many people have had that experience and how often they have to replace the membranes. I am looking at sources for replacement membranes, but just wondering how many I should get.

Hi Simon,
The early AudioMoth cases used Porelle acoustic vents. These are no longer available so the newer AudioMoth cases use Gore GAW334 (https://www.gore.com.cn/sites/default/files/2017-08/GORE®%20Acoustic%20Vents_Immersion%20Application_Aug2017.pdf) vents. The Gore vents are less acoustically transparent but a bit more robust. Insects and birds will attack the vents in some settings. Cases currently come with two replacement vents and they are available from GroupGets (https://groupgets.com/products/replacement-acoustic-vent-for-audiomoth-case) and Open Acoustic Devices (https://www.openacousticdevices.info/product-page/spare-audiomoth-ipx7-case-acoustic-vent-pack-of-4).
