Recording birds and bats
Hi,
As part of a biodiversity monitoring program, I am looking to record birds and bats at 20 sites across the Northeast US over two week deployment intervals (if possible). Is the Audiomoth v1.2.0 (and a case) all I need to do this?
Sorry, I am new to this and am basically trying to figure out if I am better off with the dev version + GPS + mic + case or just simply the v1.2.0 + case.
Thanks for any help.

Hi, Yes, the standard AudioMoth 1.2.0 will be able to record at high enough sample rates to record both bats and birds. The AudioMoth Dev allows you to use 3 x D - cell batteries which will give you about three times the deployment lifetime and also the ability to automatically set the time from the GPS module. If you set the configuration in the Config App, you will see the daily energy requirements calculated in the bottom panel, which is often the key deciding factor. Alex
