Terrestrial use of Hydromoth

Hello!

Can anyone think of a reason why hydromoths should not be used in terrestrial applications? It seems that the main differences from AM are adjustable gain ssettings and the magnetic switch. The waterproof case is also valuable for terrestrial deployments. Am I missing a key difference in the technical specs?

Yes. You can also use an AudioMoth in the underwater case. The HydroMoth and AudioMoth share most of the same electronic design. The HydroMoth has a slightly more accurate real-time clock, moved LED to be more visible in the case and an inbuilt magnetic switch. The AudioMoth has the option of adding a GPS Hat and external microphone through the GPIO and 3.5mm jack solder pads on the front face. Alex
