Hi everyone,
We have an global study about to kick off and as part of it we would like to measure and model noise in urban environments. We are potentially interested in using AudioMoths to collect ground-truthed measurements but I would like to get my hands on a few first before scaling up. I know that it is not easy to get a hold of the devices quickly as you have to go through the group orders, etc, so I was wondering if anyone in this community has any used Moths that they would like to sell and ship to me in the next month or two? I am based in London, UK.
Many thanks,
Sierra
I have two new audiomoths that got shipped to Singapore. But I won't need them since I got a grant offering me 10 recorders. If anyone is willing to buy them, please let me know.
Thank you
Hi Daniel, Assuming that the test builds go okay, the next GroupGets round will probably be the 1.1.0 version which shifts the switch and the SD card inboard a little. The current LabMaker stock, and all previous GroupGets builds, have been the original 1.0.0 version. Both will be able to use the new firmware which supports local time and long file names with the full timestamp. Alex
Hello , I have a question. The audiomoth devices which are for sale in the Lab maker and the decives which will be sold in the next buy group are de same or you will improve the quality in the next round?
Thanks for the information Alex!
It's not really a mark up. Their manufacturing batch size is smaller, they have to cover the cost of project managing the PCB assembly and they take all the financial risk of holding stock so their costs are naturally higher. Unfortunately that's the economics of low-cost manufacturing.
Hi Andrew, thanks for the quick reply. LabMaker does have some in stock but they mark up the price quite a bit. I guess thats the price you pay when you want something now...If you have any trial devices that I could try out, that that would be ideal.
Thanks in advance!
Best, Sierra
If not, let us know and we're see if we can find some trial devices that you can use.
Hi Sierra, They are also available from LabMaker - https://www.labmaker.org/collections/earth-and-ecology - with immediate shipping. I think they still have some in stock. Alex
