Dear AudioMoth team,
I saw in another post that there would be a 3rd purchase round through GroupGets sometime this month. I just wondered if you could confirm that it will be going ahead as I'm keen to place an order to carry out a project in the UK this summer.
Many thanks,
William
Hello Selvino, the Audiomoth has proved to be incredible popular once again and the third campaign has maxed out at 300%. This means that the campaign is now closed and the order will be manufactured by CircuitHub, and sent out via Group Gets. We are looking at future options to get the devices in people's hands and will update you shortly. Sorry for the disappointment with this particular campaign, but these campaigns bring the costs down significantly to users, so they end up being in high demand. There will be another opportunity for you to get your hands on them soon so watch this space
Dear AudioMoth,
I would be interested in ordering maybe 50 audiomoths. Is that still possible for the 3rd round?
Hi Mike
That is very reassuring to know as I do not have much money and was taking a chance on this.
Hope it arrives in time for this year.

Note Alasdair's comments that these are not commercial products, so BTO or NHBS would have to sell them as such. They might not want to do that. I have one from the last round and am just trying it out at the moment. If you are interested in recording bird song, then from my limited experience these devices seem to work very well. I didn't buy it for that purpose, but am using the dawn chorus as a test. I have now ordered another device!
Regards Mike
Hi Alasdair
Thanks for your very helpful reply. I have taken the plunge and ordered one. It would be good if you could get the BTO or NHBS to bulk purchase and sell them in the UK. Cheers Fran
Hi Fran, thanks for getting in touch. The GroupGets order aggregates a number of orders together to reduce the cost of aquiring a single device. If you wanted to order say 3 - 5 directly from CircuitHub (who manufacture them) it would cost several hundred dollars per device, but because we order 200+ at a time we can offer everyone the same lower cost of $49.99.
If you place an order you won't be charged until the GroupGets campaign closes, so this will be in 22 days time (it being the 29th March today). Once they have been manufactured GroupGets receive them and run a random test on about 10 devices to confirm they work electrically. If they pass, we then ship them out. However, please note that the AudioMoth is a prototype research tool, and is not a commercial product. As such, it comes with no warranty or guarantee that it is fit for purpose so the purchase is at your own risk at the moment in time. The last two GroupGet rounds delivered 850+ device and that have worked fine and there is good support via this forum too if you want to purchase a few devices at first to evaluate them.
Kind regards,
Alasdair (GroupGets Initiator | Arribada Initiative)
