@Alex RogersHello Alex, We use some audiomoth because the others devices are to much expensive to our budget. The biggest trouble we had in the beginning was the battery duration, because of thar we put the 4 Sanyo 18650 battery pack (13600 mhA more or less, 3.7v). I always configure our audiomths at 256Khz rate, or 250 in the lastest App version. I don´t remember the exact number of hour per night, but at least was eight hours per night without sleep- record cicle. The audiomoth worked 27 days.

I use packs of four 18650 batteries. And work very fine, I can record all the night 1 month without problems. In the test I used a 512 Gb Sd and the audiomoth can record 480 Gb of wav files, and it had remaining energy.

I think that install solar panels in the audiomoth is not necessary, and maybe do the thieves work easy... You can put some 18650 battery and take all the recording time you want... I record all the night, 1 month with one 4 battery pack. If you want to record more time you only need more 18650. Two moths with 8 batteries are possible. You only need a very great sd capacity

@Edwin Houwertjes Thank you very much for the information. Yes, the Kwnoles have 3 pins... I will try to use one of that Kwnoles, I have the Audiomoth dev, wich have a 3v out conector. Get the extra energy is not a problem. But i have a doubt. If the mic would have 4 pins, two for the energy and two for the signal it would be easy to conect. But in this case, i see you conected a energy wire to a foot of the conector. + or -? And the other wire? Sorry because I don´t know much electronics, but I want to try this things...

I don´t understand why i need external energy for use the Knowles FG-23629-D65, because is a electret microphone with very similar requirements to the primo EM258. Primo EM258 I belive is easy to put in the audiomoth. The only trouble with EM258 i have is that i looking for a microphone capable to record at least at 115Khz, in order to record Rhinolophus hipposideros, and i read that microphone is only capable to record Rhinolophus ferrumequinum... But i think i need some easyer than the method you describe, and i probably will buy some Primo EM258 capsules. I use this message to ask you about the method with the EM258 capsules. I believe that is only soldering the "Single" capsule to a mini kack conector and put it to the audiomoth? Micbooster have finish EM258 microphone but buy the capsules is cheaper and fastests, because the finish mcirophones are out of stock. Thank you very much!

Good afternoon,I'm still looking for an external ultrasound microphone for the audiomoth.I have seen the Primo EM258 capsules.I have seen that they sell them soldered and not soldered. Without soldering they are cheaper. You just have to solder them to the mini jack connector? On the other hand,I have read that the PRIMO microphone is not capable of recording bats that emit at higher frequencies. Do you know one that reaches at least 110Khz?

Hello. If th microphone of the Audiomoth 1.0.0 and 1.1.0 is obsolete and we can't buy it. We can fix the Audiomoth 1.0 Whit the microphone SPU0410LR5H, the same as the Audiomoth 1.2, if we found someone who knows the soldering method, of course. Thank you very much. Daniel
