Ah - KP will not let you put the result files in the same folder as the audio file but also don't put the results folder in the same folder as the audio files it gives KP the gripes. Put the audio files in a folder and have the results folder at the same level and all is well - lesson learnt!

Could it bee the apps haven't updated correctly? I'd uninstall the apps, reboot the PC/laptop and re-install the apps from a fresh download.

It's more it keeps IDing Leislers over Noctules, which is possible for my area - if so there are a lots more Leislers than I've previously believed. Anyhow I had another look at settings and found one called - conservative - more accurate. I was just asking if there were some advanced/hidden settings to tune Kaleidoscope to AudioMoth files but I guess not.

Latest config app v1.3 with firmware 1.4.0 - when saving a config file it does not save the advanced setting, the record settings and the schedule are OK

Peter - an info report - On Windows 10 Home 1909 - the flashapp bricked both my AudioMoths. Then I couldn't get flash to load the firmware either, after much pluggin unpluging and rebooting - Windows decided to reinstall the USB/COM driver as COM4 whereas flash had been reporting the AudioMoth as COM3. Using COM4 - flash did it's thing and now I have both AudioMoths back reporting the correct firmware.

Had a look back on the forum, and it seems the answer is yes - set the period to the time you want to record and the length of recording to number of hours in seconds (2hrs = 7200seconds) - my understanding is the battery life is managed by the processor being asleep when not recording, so I suspect the battery life might be affected.

Not certain I fully understand the first question however the AM records ultrasonic sounds as wav files as does the M500. Wav files from the AM can be read and analysed by batexplorer - however I've only used it on individual files, so I don't know about batch analysis. Because I wanted to ensure overlap between the microphone and the hole - I used a 5mm drill and the measured hole is 5.5mm.

Also Batclassify will run when batdetect falls over complaining about "corrupt" files - I may have lets the batteries run too low
