I have discovered the problem: if you have another USB mic connected to the RPi (Raspbian) the script does not run properly. If you disconnect the non-Audiomoth USB mic, it runs ok.

Now having the ability to remotely update the device's firmware is fantastic news. If this process could also be equipped with some mechanism to make the update reliable and robust, it would be truly impressive. Suppose it might not be feasible, but would it be possible to update the firmware remotely as well?

Thanks, Alex! That sounds good! The use case is set the device with a permanent configuration (gain, mainly) from a Linux shell. In other words, remote configuration of the mic connected to a Linux-based devices as a RPi4 or similar.
