I’m America based scientist exploring the use of hydro moths as a way to monitor oyster restoration and eelgrass restoration. We order two back in June and have had them deployed ever since. We let them run for two weeks before servicing them. During our check one was found with the latch pop open. There was very little water inside and the unit recorded the whole time. The second unit was fine. We decided to put a zip tie around the two units to help keep it closed. After 3 weeks we check them again and both units where open. The zip ties slipped from being over the latch. Does anybody have any ideas on why this might happen? Is there a different case that would be more suitable for coastal intertidal work? One unit is completely lost. The other unit appears to be working. But with this…

Is it possible to buy IPX7 Waterproof Case latches? I have a number of them where the latch broke in half.

Hi, I need to service my 8 Hydromoths before the beginning of the season, and 3 of them have pinched orings (seal). I can't find the spare part in any of the international shops, only in the UK Store. Is there a way to order a few from outside the UK? Item: Spare seal for AudioMoth IPX7 Waterproof Case and AudioMoth Underwater Case

I just bought my first AudioMoth, along with the weatherproof case. A couple of questions:

1. included in the box was a small plastic envelope containing two small round items - what are these for? Looks like maybe to replace the case opening cover when <what> happens?

2. I'm recording NFCs so am placing the AM flat facing upwards. What does this mean if it rains overnight? I'm thinking the cone around the mic hole will fill with water. Should I put it in a ziplock bag if rain is expected, and if so how will that affect sound pickup?
