Can the moth or song meter recognize human voice?

Hi I was wondering if anyone could tell me if either the moth or song meter mini can record human voices?

Hi, You can use amplitude and frequency triggered recordings to only record when people are speaking. How well it works, and how well it differentiates human voice from other sounds, would really depend on the other background noises that might be encountered. What is the application that you are interested in? Alex

Hi Alex , we are trying to record illegal poachers and haven't been able to find anything that we can leave outside that will record their voices. Trail cams with audio aren't doing what we need. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi! You would need to have the audiomoths relatively to the poachers unless they were shouting (not very likely). You may want to consider monitotring the human presense some other way. These guys have developed a cell phone detector: https://www.hack-the-planet.io/project/cell-phone-detection
