I've ordered an Audiomoth 1.2.0 and I'm planning on plugging some Primo EM272 microphones (https://micbooster.com/primo-microphone-capsules/199-primo-em272.html). So, do you know if I can do a stereo-type assembly of these capsules to plug them into the Audiomoth ?
Thanks a lot,
Paul
AudioMoth works well with the Primo microphones. AudioMoth only records a single channel though so it is mono only.
Thanks for your answer. Have you been able to experiment with different assemblies of capsules ?
No we just used their standard made-up microphones with the 3.5mm jacks already attached. These work well.
Thanks for your feedback. Have you observed a decrease in autonomy due to the need to power the capsules ?
Compared to the typical power used in recording to SD card the effect of the external microphone is minimal. There is some additional load when the device is sleeping between recordings and the external microphone is present (due to the current used to detect it) but this only amounts to about 1-2 mAh per day so is not really a factor unless you are doing extremely long deployments with a very sparse recording schedule.
@Alex Rogers Thanks for your detailed answer.
