I understand that there is just 1 audiomoth model and the detection frequency can be adjusted so that the unit can be used to detect either birds or bats. But can I set an automated recording schedule where, at night, the unit alternates between recording sonic frequencies (for owls, katydids, and frogs) with ultrasonic frequencies for bats? For example, it would record the first 5 minutes of every hour in the sonic range and the next 5 minutes in the ultrasonic range. Would that work? Thanks!!

We've deployed custom firmware that supports different recording periods with low frequencies for birds and high frequencies for bats. However, this is typically for long term deployments where maximising battery life is important. In most cases it is easier to use the standard firmware and to record at a high enough frequency to capture the bats that you are interested in. You can then downsample the recordings to improve the signal to noise ratio for periods when you are only interested in low frequencies calls such as birds and frogs. The Configuration App has some tools for downsampling recordings.
