Hi all,
I'm planning to deploy my audiomoth for short periods in good weather using only the plastic bag that came with the device for protection.
Any insights on the best way to attach the bag with the device to a tree? I can see in photos that many people use zip ties, but I'd love to hear success stories from people who have attached the zip ties to bags in a non-noisy, secure way. I'd also love to hear about any removable/reusable attachment options people have used. Types of tape or adhesive that work best? Tips for minimizing noise from the plastic bag?
Thanks,
Ellie
Dear Ellie,
I tested with silver tape, but in the humid conditions of the Brazilian subtropical forest, the tapes take off in a few hours. I ended up using a piece of flexible wire to attach to the trees, making a small structure around the AM. The result was not aesthetically beautiful, but it worked and I had no problem reusing the piece of wire.
