Switching between custom and default

Hello,

So I have a custom recording period set on my AudioMoths (record 10 min, sleep 50 min) but I'm also hoping to do some surveys paired with records at each ARU deployed. Am I able to switch it to default in the field, record my paired survey, and then switch it back to custom so it keeps doing the regular cycle? Or will switching it to default mess up the settings?
