Hi I bout an Audiomoth USB last year and now the bat season is almost here I was setting it up. Working fine until I upgraded the firmware to the lates version 1.11.0 which the app said was not compatible. I tried to downgrade to 1.3 where it was previously but afterwards it was not recognised as a USB device and no LED's were lit. Using the paper clip method I could get it into serial mode and re-program it but no matter what version I used I could not get the LED to light or get it to be recognised in USB mode. Can you advise what I can try next or what I am doing wrong.
Thanks
Stewart
I’m not sure what can be happening here. If the Flash App shows the version name and number in the bottom panel then the app is talking to the device okay after a restart.
I’d go through the flash process and then restart Windows to see if Windows is confused.
Is there any sign of corrosion on the board?
If you plug the device in and it isn’t recognised by the Config App, open the Flash App and without doing anything on the AudioMoth check if the Flash App is reporting that it can see an AudioMoth in serial flash mode.
Hi Stewart, Can you confirm what operating system you are using. Does the flash process complete normally? Flashing using the paper clip is the correct process for recovering the firmware. Make sure that you do not have any batteries installed, remove the USB cable so that the device gets a complete power-up reset, and then see if it appears in the Config App. Alex
