we've having troubles with an audiomoth device which has already the latest version of the firmware. The device register audio files but when I open them I hear only noises
Hi, I am writing about the same topic. The background noise is always high on the audiomoth v1.2.0 recordings, but I can hear my whistling (higher frequencies) through the noise (file attached). It happened to my 1.1.0 version already after 3 years of use but this time this is a recently purchased v.1.2.0, protected by a case this time, that ceased to properly work...
Hi, It sounds like the microphone has suffered some moisture damage. Try recording you normal speaking voice about 0.5m away from the AudioMoth. Can you share an example of the WAV file. Alex
Yes, this seems to be water damage to the microphone. The AudioMoth would still be useable with an external microphone. It's also possible to change the microphone if you have access to an experienced electronics shop. However, it often isn't cost effective to do so.

Hola! Alex. Podrías comentar como agregar un icrófono externo al AudioMoth, por favor? Tengo el mismo problema que Marco.
