I've just taken delivery of two Audiomoths and am trying to set them up. I'm not sure what I've done wrong, but have formatted the SD card, inserted the brand new Duracell batteries, downloaded the app and connected the Audiomoth to the PC using the supplied cable, and the PC just says the device has not been recognised. I've re-formatted the SD card in MS-DOS, tried several cables that I know both upload and download data and still it doesn't work. Bizarrely it does connect (and update the clock) when the batteries are out. I'm using Windows 7, 64bit. Does anyone have any tips for what to try next?
Hi Sarah, Can you describe a bit more detail about how it works with the batteries out but not with them in, and when exactly the 'device not recognised' message appears. If it connects and updates the clock then it is basically working. But it seems strange that this doesn't happen with the batteries in?
Hi Sarah, Did you get to the bottom of this? It sound like you are expecting the SD card to appear as a USB drive? This doesn’t happen - you need to remove the SD card and read it directly on you laptop, rather than through the AudioMoth device. Alex
Hello I have also an Errorcode (10) from Windows. The Device is not able to be started.
I have a AM Rev. 1.1.0. connected with a proper/validated USB cable. I couldnt started it on 3 PC's, with connected USB and switched Mode from Default to USB/OFF and Custom to USB/OFF.
The PC recognized that there is a "EASYLOG USB Device" but announced a Driver failiure, as shown in the Screenshot attached to this post
maybe this could be usefull to
Hi Martin, This seems to be a Lascar Easy Logger driver interfering with the normal operating system USB HID driver that should be used. On Windows no driver will be necessary to communicate with AudioMoth. Alex
