Hi, Sometimes, if the AM is installed inside a box, it is difficult to enter flash mode without removing the board. By making a momentary bridge between the last pin of the microprocessor (SWCLK), and the pad (3V3), we achieve the same effect as using the clip, setting the GEKO input high and entering flash mode. Once this mode is entered, it is not necessary to keep the bridge, the LEDs stop flashing and the firmware can be updated without problems Be very careful when performing this action not to bypass other terminals of the microprocessor! Health !

We are testing the acoustic behavior of different types of membranes, depending on whether they are for recording birds, or bats, in the field, but the results are not conclusive, and we would like to know if anyone knows or is using any standard procedure for this type of test.

Hi all, I have been making a type of boxes for some time, which I see coincides in part with some of the latest designs on display in this forum My design aims, - IP65 range protection against dust and moisture - Polyester membrane, acoustically tested, which ensures the protection of the microphone with minimum losses in sensitivity and frequencies - External switch, more robust than the standard built-in by Audiomoth, and which facilitates the maneuver without opening the box - Ventilation valve to prevent condensation - Independent battery compartment with JST connector to facilitate alternative feeding (Lipo) in case more autonomy is needed - Camouflage paint with small window to observe the state of the LEDS If someone is interested you can contact me through the private mail Best regards !

Interesting article about the manufacture of microphones for recording wildlife. https://f1000research.com/articles/7-1984/v1 Perhaps, it would be interesting to design an Audiomoth with connections for an independent microphone, which would allow both its calibration or replacement in case of degradation of its properties, and the use of microphones adapted to the range of frequencies to be studied.

Hello, We used an Audiomoth with a protective plastic bag, but some moisture came in, and now it does not work properly Placing the switch in the DEFAULT position the green led produces long flashes (approximately 1s), but no recording occurs In the CUSTOM position, it also does not record when by programming it should, and the flashes are short and green When it is scheduled, apparently the whole process is done correctly, but afterwards the program is not executed at the agreed times I imagine that the humidity will have caused damage to the microprocessor, but I would like to know if you have any measurement protocol in some points of the PCB to confirm or rule out this failure, or to isolate the cause of the problem in the circuit Best regards,

Congratulations for your work for all the team that has developed this project! I am working on designing a "cloth" for the Audiomoth that could serve to protect it from the inclement weather, preserving all its qualities. I think it's a pity that such an interesting project can be considered as "throwaway" because of its low price For this I am using a small commercial electric box with lid (171 * 100 * 100 mm), which meets the following requirements, - IP65 waterproof - When opening the lid, easy access to the batteries and the control elements - enough interior space to accommodate more capacity Lipo batteries, if it will be necessary - External microphone To be able to outsource the control elements of the PCB (LEDs, switch, microphone, ...) I would need to redesign the board, increasing its size to accommodate the necessary connectors What do you think about this ?
